The Imaging and Resection Engineering Team, based in Naples, FL, is seeking an intern pursuing a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree. The selected intern will support the engineering design staff on development projects including efforts focused around clinical application of Radio Frequency & Arthroscopic pump cassettes. Responsibilities will include constructing test fixtures and measurement methods to quantify performance of devices in benchtop setting and evaluate options for R&D manufacturing methods for cost saving solutions on new and existing product designs.

 

This internship will run from August 2022 – December 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work at least 30 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

To support Engineering design staff on development projects. Construct test fixtures and measurement methods to quantify performance of devices in benchtop setting. Evaluate options for R&D manufacturing methods for cost saving solutions on new and existing product designs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Trident Cassette development and Ti90 Temperature sensing prototypes

  • Evaluate Prototypes (Test)          

  • R&D Project investigations

  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.


Education and Experience:

  • Junior or Senior in college pursuing Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a recent Mechanical or Electrical Engineering graduate required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
  • Statistical analysis experience preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Solidworks; Minitab; Fax; Scanner.
