Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively seeking a Data Literacy Program Lead who works directly with many global departments within Arthrex.  The Data Literacy Program Lead will drive the design and implementation of global data-centric learning programs that grow our business user’s ability to read, write, and communicate with data.  Arthrex’s Data Literacy program seeks to support the business in actively managing and improving the input and use of data. As the Data Literacy Program Lead, you will own the plan for engagement, communication, development, and implementation of this data-centric curriculum.  Communication to many global departments, technical and non-technical partners, and managers at all the levels will be a part of the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Owns, develops, and communicates the overall Data Literacy Program Strategy throughout the enterprise.
  • Drives the design, development, launch, and management of Arthrex’s Data Literacy Program.
  • Promotes a shared ‘data language’ that will help colleagues be better equipped to optimally apply data to day-to-day work and support a mindset of data driven decision making.
  • Manages the mapping of educational content to various personalities (e.g., Data Avoider, Data Newcomer, Data Apprentice and Data Guru). 
  • Ensures the development of on-line learning and workshops that will be assigned to the data personality types.
  • Develop and execute data related events to drive interest such as an internal analytics conference.
  • Ensures technology is leveraged for creative execution of Data Literacy Program efforts (e.g., online learning, webcasts, video, and audio channels).
  • Develop materials to explain and promote the Data Literacy Program activities to key audiences.
  • Potentially engage with implementation partners to assist in the delivery of the Data Literacy Program to our global locations.
  • Develop curriculum to expand the knowledge and capabilities of select citizen analytic developers.
  • Help global business teams measure their baseline data literacy maturity and track their improvement.
  • Manages development, launch, and tracking of key metrics to measure the success of data literacy efforts.
  • Responds to key metrics to drive improvements to data literacy efforts.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a data/IT environment:  report development, data model development, data management, data quality, and/or data governance.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in leading enterprise-wide learning programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization delivering business impact with data, analytics, and impactful communications.
  • Minimum 8+ years of total relevant work experience required
  • Medical device industry experience beneficial but not required

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Ability to act as a change agent across organizational and global boundaries
  • Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, and partnership skills
  • Teacher with the skill to drive interest and commitment to learning data disciplines
  • Ability to develop learning material for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Previous experience and demonstrated results in curriculum development
  • Background in project and/or program management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-year transformation programs
  • Experience to know when to continue to drive the current path and when to alter the plan regardless of previous investment
  • Knowledgeable of data management and governance policies, standards, metrics, controls, and processes
  • Strong familiarity with data and analytics terminology and methodology
  • Experience with data analysis, data science, ML and AI; and tools and languages such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Databricks and the Azure is desired
  • Ability to think critically, identify solutions and deliver recommendations based on data and analysis
  • Self-starter that can work independently but also know when the right time to ask for help
  • Strong initiative, creative thinking, attention to detail and work ethic

 

Machine, tools, and/or equipment skills:

  • Macintosh or PC platform
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and TEAMs
