Main Objective:

To provide administrative support to the Legal Department, in particular to the General Counsel.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supports the General Counsel and other legal staff on ongoing projects, as well as calendar management, office organization, filing, travel arrangements, expense reports, record keeping,
  • Displays professionalism, quality service, and a “can do” attitude in-person and in all communications both internally and externally.
  • Exercises privacy, confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion regarding work matters, interactions, and communications, understanding that all Legal Department matters, meetings and calls are highly confidential.
  • Composes letters and communications from verbal direction or from knowledge of company policy.
  • Able to provide backup for other Legal Department administrative team members during breaks, vacations and times of absence.
  • Assists Legal Department administration with routine tasks including department mail, supplies, and purchasing.
  • Schedules and may attend conferences, appointments and meetings with attorneys, and able to write minutes, notes, summaries and notices as necessary.
  • Assist with other administrative functions or special projects as needed, including arranging catering for hosted events, coordinating departmental events, assisting with charitable events, etc.


Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years’ work experience in administration, legal, or general office experience required
  • Work experience in a legal setting preferred


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines. Good interpersonal skills and phone etiquette.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Phone console, PC, Office Equipment, 10-Key Calculator.

Required to be proficient with typical IT office software and tools, and able to learn new software applications as needed. Intermediate experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
