The Accounts Receivable Department is based in Fort Myers, Florida and consists of various teams, including Cash Application, Collection, Credit Risk, and International and Resolution. The individual(s) that are chosen for this position will have the opportunity to rotate through each area of AR. Preferably, the ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or a Business-related field.

 

This internship will run from July 2022 – October 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work at least 30 hours per week at our logistics center in Fort Myers, FL.

 

Main Objective:

To gain corporate experience and learn different aspects of Accounts Receivable.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Agency AR statement preparation and analysis                     

  • Research AR refunds and application of debits and credits

  • Credit line review and analysis of existing customers     

  • Application of cash payments and short pay research and resolution

  • Assist collection team on collection efforts on small accounts       

  • Assist resolution team on research for disputed items


Education and Experience:

Progress towards a high school diploma or a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Business Management, Accounting or Finance. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
