Regional Sales Director- South Central

Main Objective:

Ensure maximized revenue growth of assigned company products and services through direct and indirect management of an independent sales force and the management of a Regional Manager and dotted line management of a Distal Extremity and Imaging and Resection Regional Manager in a defined geographic product area.  Establish proper and effective communications with appropriate staff across the company to ensure the proper level of sensitivity to needs of sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages an assigned group of agencies and related geography to maximize product sales revenues and meet corporate objectives:
2. Formulates and distributes regional quota to agencies
3. Develops and monitors specific plans and company strategy to ensure revenue growth in all company products and product categories.
4. Directs and supports account management activities.
5. Establishes relationships with key accounts and customers
6. Manages and develops independent agency sales teams:
7. Manages personnel activities of team (i.e., hires, trains, coaches, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary, etc.).
8. Educates sales in terms of product education and sales tactics and training.
9. Ensures corporate initiatives are carried out to agency owners and salespeople
10. Establishes and manages effective programs and training to address the following issues:
11. New and existing account sales and growth to base through sales force.
12. Sales of new and existing highlight products and multi-product sales.
13. Pro-active competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns.
14. Proper use and level of sales support.
15. Management of expenses of the area to a reasonable level.
16. Business/financial issues on contracts.
17. Performs sales activities on key accounts and negotiates pricing and contracts through the VP of Sales where necessary
18. Works closely with Distal Extremity and Imaging & Resection Regional Managers to ensure proper focus and effort is being given to regional agencies and customers to effectively meet sales expectations
19. Hires and manages Regional Manager (RM)
20. Trains RM on corporate, product, and regional responsibilities
21. Monitors progress of RM growth in position and reports to VP of Sales regularly
22. Conducts 90-day and annual performance reviews
23. Up to 75% travel.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of orthopedic product sales experience required.
• A minimum of 3 years Arthrex regional sales management experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Knowledge of company’s products, pricing practices, and selling skills. 
• Effective management skills with ability to manage the company’s sales operations. 
• Effective time management, communications, decision making, presentation, and organization skills. 
• Excellent writing, editing, communications, and interpersonal skills. 
• Professional appearance and presentation required.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Office. PC’s and various software languages used as required.  Cognos experience a plus.

The territory for this position will include the following states: Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will live near a major metropolitan airport in one of these states preferably in one of the following cities: Dallas, Houston, Austin, OK City.
