Maintenance Tech Trainee

These positions are day-shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) that will be located at the Arthrex Manufacturing facility in Ave Maria, FL.

Main Objective:

To successfully complete all requisite Maintenance Tech Trainee program objectives, including all machine specific and online training to ultimately perform all preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Applicants for apprenticeship shall possess the following minimum qualifications, which are directly job related:

• At least 18 years of age
• Be a high school graduate or possess a GED certificate; and,
• Be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language (remediation may be requested)

• Work faithfully and diligently at the occupation.
• Complete promptly and carefully all lessons, assignments and school tests required by the sponsor
• Maintain satisfactory progress as determined by the Maintenance Manager to advance through each stage of the program. 
• Sequentially develop skills reflective of the Maintenance Technician job descriptions
• Protect the property of the employer
• Respect and comply with all rules, regulations and policies of the employer affecting employment
• Keep adequate records of work experience and related instruction as required by the sponsor and submit properly completed records to the appropriate authority in a timely manner

Typical Functions for the Maintenance Tech Trainee include:

• Perform online training every week on assigned topic
• Perform on the job training every week on assigned topic
• Participate in vendor related training
• Learn and perform preventative maintenance proceedures
• Work with maintenance technicians

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Mechanical aptitude.  Ability to use measuring tools.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of CNC machines or similar production equipment

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to complete the apprenticeship program based upon the program requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.

Physical Demands:

Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Vision Requirements:

Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively.
