The Gage and Fixture Design team at Arthrex Manufacturing, Inc. in Ave Maria, FL (AMIE), is responsible for supporting Metrology and Quality Departments to develop, optimize, and improve inspection process. We are searching for an intern pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree to support the Gage and Fixture Design team at AMIE. The successful candidate will be involved in the design process of gages and fixtures for metrology operations, will participate in Measurement System Analysis procedures (Gage R&R process) and Statistical Process Control studies (Minitab/QC CALC). The individual will perform various tasks supporting calibration activities (Gage Check - In process). The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.
This internship will run from May 2024 – August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Basic gage and fixture design.
- Solidworks related projects and activities.
- Agile training and related tasks.
- Gage R&R assistance.
- Assistance with MSA analysis.
- Calibration and Gage Check- In process.
- This is an in-office position located in Ave Maria, FL; it is not a remote position.
Education and Experience:
Progress towards a college degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Basic Solidworks knowledge and skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read blueprints and basic GD&T knowledge.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
