Arthrex, Inc is hiring an EHS Coordinator for our manufacturing location in Ave Maria, FL. This coordinator will support all areas of the Arthrex Environmental, Health and Safety Programs. This position will help with identifying safety improvement opportunities, evaluating existing programs, and assisting in the development and implementation of control methods to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace accidents. Solid technical and communication skills, three years’ professional experience, strong environmental compliance experience and a Bachelors’ degree in Occupational Safety, Health or closely related filed will be essential for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform frequent inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and associated standards such as OSHA, ANSI & NFPA.
  • Present training programs to personnel related to new employee orientation, accident prevention, and workplace safety.
  • Perform timely incident investigations involving personal injury and property damage.
  • Involvement in the creation and maintenance of company safety teams.
  • Develop equipment and job specific hazard analysis.
  • Establish equipment-specific identification placards for machines.
  • Perform periodic air, noise and associated industrial hygiene surveys.
  • Administer the Hearing Conservation Program
  • Assist in maintaining hazardous material storage areas and environmental compliance.
  • Must have flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Must be willing and capable to provide first aid care to others.
  • Travel occasionally both local and abroad as necessary.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in occupational safety, health, or closely related field required
  • 3 years of direct professional experience in Occupational Safety, Health, or EHS required


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/ Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to workplace safety and health.
  • Has the knowledge and skills necessary to interpret regulations, permits, and other technical data.
  • Knowledge to effectively impact incidents through the application of fundamental injury prevention strategies.
  • Able to attend off-site training courses as necessary.
  • Must obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
  • Works in a timely, organized manner, prioritizing workload and assignments


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to work with others or alone to solve complex human or environmental issues.


Mathematical Skills:

Maintains fundamental mathematic skills, including but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Draw and interpret graphs and use basic statistics.


Language and Communication Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to successfully implement workplace safety ideas, concepts and programs to other team members and management.

Ability to give group presentations in a comfortable, professional and confident manner.

Effective business communication writing skills

Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
