Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. We are searching for a Co-op/Intern pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety to support the EH&S team at Arthrex Manufacturing East in Ave Maria Florida. The successful candidate will perform safety evaluations of new and existing equipment and processes with guidance from the EHS staff. The individual will assist with updating training presentations as well as presenting training information to Managers, Supervisors, and other staff.   The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.


This internship will run from May 2023 – August 2023. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety evaluations of new and existing equipment to ensure compliance with internal & regulatory standards.
  • Assist in Industrial Hygiene sampling and exposure monitoring projects.
  • Provide administrative support for more tenured staff to include employee training presentations.
  • Management of Change (MOC) approvals.
  • Installation Qualification approvals (IQ’s).
  • This is an in-office position located in Ave Maria, FL; it is not a remote position.


Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Occupational Safety and Health. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong science and math skills.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
