How do you impact our mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better® in your role?

As a Suture Engineering Technician, my role impacts our mission through the suture products I help make. My role includes training the suture operators, other trainers and production coordinators so they understand the product, its drawing and the work instructions to build a quality product. I work to make sure each person understands why the specific dimensions are so important and what part of the body the suture goes into, which helps them build quality products for the surgeons and their patients.

What inspires you the most at Arthrex?

The company as a whole is inspiring. I find inspiration in all of the people I work with. From the operational manager to Human Resources and my supervisors, the whole team has inspired me to keep doing what I love. Each has given me advice on how to be successful and never give up.

I am also inspired by the growth of this company and knowing that I’ve helped train many of the people we’ve hired. When we started there were 50 employees at AMISC and now we have grown to almost 1,500. Just seeing how a company like Arthrex can grow is so amazing. I am Arthrex Proud!

What is your favorite success story at Arthrex?

My favorite success story is AMISC’s growth, which began in 2019. I was one of four suture operators at the beginning including Suture Technician III Annette Skelton and Assembly Tech Level III Donnie Rainey. The growth of the Suture team is immense. We went from only four operators to more than 200 in a little over four years.

Joining Arthrex as an operator and becoming a trainer was a challenge for me so this was also a big success. I’m very proud to know that I helped train most of the people that are now on our team.

Seeing how far the Suture department has come and getting to be a part of the team is my success story.

How do you describe the Arthrex culture?

The Arthrex culture is like a family to me. Everyone here, regardless of their position, knows your name and no one is treated like they’re just a number. Everyone is part of the family, which I love because we see each other almost every day, we spend a lot of time together and I truly feel like everyone here wants each other to succeed. As one of my colleagues says, “We are better together.”

Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?

Arthrex has made me better by believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of something great. This company trusted me to be part of the team. It provided me with the resources I need to be successful and helped develop me into the person I am today. I am proud to be part of such a great company.
