Facilities

The Facilities team works behind the scenes to plan, build, service and maintain our innovative facilities and work environments through the following teams:

·       The Construction Project team is involved in all aspects of construction – from renovations to new building projects.

·       The Maintenance and Custodial teams service and maintain the buildings and building systems on our campuses. 

·       The Shipping and Receiving team ships outgoing packages and distributes interoffice and incoming mail and other shipments.

·       The Corporate Housing team furnishes and maintains all corporate housing facilities.

·       The Facilities Accounting team handles facilities billing and purchasing.

For Custodian Angel Sotomayor, working at Arthrex brings a sense of gratitude – for a job that provides stability, for the teammates who make him smile and most importantly, the opportunity to be part of a company that helps people live active lives.

What does a typical day at Arthrex look like for you?

Every day of work inspires me to do my part for the good of the company. Since I work on the second shift, a typical day  for me starts at 4 p.m. I get to the office and I talk to my supervisor and crew to make sure we all work on the same priorities

and the most urgent work gets done first. Based on that, I plan my day accordingly.  

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The thing I enjoy the most is the warm and positive atmosphere of the great people I work with. Also, it’s very rewarding for me to know that I work for one of the best companies in Southwest Florida.  

What has been a highlight during your time at Arthrex?

The highlight is having achieved job stability, especially during these hard times. I have worked for Arthrex for eight wonderful years.    

I’m originally from Argentina and I’ve lived in the U.S. for almost 20 years. Recently, I decided to become a U.S. citizen and when that happened, I received a warm congratulations from my teammates as well as the Communications and Human Resources teams. This nice gesture to be featured on the employee intranet is really touching; I will never forget it.

Arthrex has made me better by giving me the opportunity to do meaningful work for the company. That has helped me to feel good not only professionally but also at home. Arthrex makes not only employees better, Arthrex helps the entire community, by giving back and sponsoring many charities.

What do you do in your downtime?

I enjoy spending time with my family and I like to exercise. I’m a big fan of rugby and I like to play it with my sons and friends.
