What does a typical day at Arthrex look like for you?
Shipping products globally requires input and coordination from many departments, so facilitating communication through email is an essential part of our success. I attend meetings aimed at improving warehouse operations and overall processes. My goal is to ensure that each team member has the information and tools they need to be successful, whether it is through departmental training or classes designed to aid them as they grow with Arthrex.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy finding solutions to challenges in the workplace. Our team is responsible for picking, packing and creating shipments that will find their way to over 50 countries. Many of our shipments have specific requirements, from the packing materials we can use to how the shipments are palletized. One challenge is ensuring each team member knows the requirements to successfully complete a shipment for a specific country. To accomplish this, we created a Packing Guide where team members can search a country and find the information needed to complete the task successfully. Our team takes pride in our ability to efficiently and accurately accomplish these tasks every day. Having the shipments ready on their scheduled shipping days allows us to globally accomplish our corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.
What has been a highlight during your time at Arthrex?
Becoming supervisor of international fulfillment after starting as a warehouse associate more than six years ago has been the highlight of my career. During my time here, our department has seen double-digit annual growth. This growth has brought the constant need to adapt and change our processes. I am looking forward to the opportunities ahead as we continue to grow at a rapid pace.
Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?
One of the ways Arthrex has made me better is through the Personal Leadership Program. The program helped me understand not only who I am, but why I am that way. It has helped me become a better leader and gain a deeper understanding of how to handle any situation that may arise.
What do you do in your downtime?
Most of my downtime is spent with my family. My daughter and my nine-month-old grandson are staying with my wife and I while my son-in-law, a Blackhawk pilot for the Army, is deployed overseas.
