Main Objective:

This position serves as a pivotal reporting and analytical function within Arthrex Japan. It encompasses comprehensive reporting responsibilities across finance, commercial operations, marketing, and other business activities. The role involves gathering and analyzing data from multiple systems and sources to produce accurate, insightful, and actionable reports for a wide range of stakeholders.

Additionally, this role plays a critical part in shaping the budgeting and forecasting processes—developing templates, reviewing submissions, generating analytical insights, and collaborating closely with regional teams. It also contributes to enhancing pricing visibility and provides recommendations for pricing adjustments aimed at improving overall gross margin performance.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Arthrex business in driving sales growth and profitability
  • Lead budget planning cycles in close collaboration with business leaders
  • Develop and assess business cases to support strategic decision-making
  • Provide pricing analysis and recommendations to optimize profitability
  • Partner with the Operations team to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize excess stock
  • Manage costs by identifying opportunities for reduction and coordinating with relevant departments to validate necessary expenditures
  • Design and implement systems to enable effective cost control and transparency
  • Generate reports that deliver actionable insights to support business performance
  • Maintain regular communication with APAC Finance to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Serve as the expert in Japan for company-wide reporting tools and platforms, including Power BI, PAW, TM1, and SAP
  • Collaborate with Japan Marketing and Commercial teams to collect, maintain, and analyze market data, and share product line performance insights
  • Work cross-functionally with teams in operations and supply chain (e.g., consignment, loaners, service and repair) to support data-driven decision-making
  • Execute ad-hoc projects and assignments as requested

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • 7+ years experience in finance or analysis role
  • At least 3 years of experience in the medical device industry as FP&A or Finance Business Partner
  • Experience of analyzing business with large number of products
  • Advanced skills in MS Office required with strong capabilities in MS Excel modeling
  • Experience in developing reports using multiple data sources and systems
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Advanced skills in Power BI required with strong capabilities in creating reports and providing insights
  • SQL experience preferred
  • Experience with Reporting Systems e.g. Cognos, TM1, PBI preferred
  • CPA, Big4 experience or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Ability to work independently

 

Reasoning Ability:

Has the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Has the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, in mathematical or diagram form, and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Has the ability to communicate in both English and Japanese to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Has the ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Has the ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
