Arthrex Inc. is actively searching for a Banquet Chef Supervisor that will be responsible for all Culinary related requirements pertaining to Arthrex Banquets, including, but not limited to, Medical Education, Corporate, and Third Party. This position will be the point of contact, following the event’s lifecycle from its inception to its conclusion. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and communication skills. A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years high volume Culinary Banquet experience is required for this position. Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of Banquets, producing high quality culinary products consistently
  • Oversee production of other kitchen personnel that contribute to the Banquets
  • Assist in the creation of menus, recipes, displays, BEO’S, and spreadsheets for Banquet events
  • Makes management decisions in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Coordinate with Executive Chef regarding product and organizational standards based on existing criteria
  • Assist with ordering and scheduling as necessary
  • Sign off on timesheets, approve time off requests
  • Assist and /or produce Performance Evaluations for personnel located at each Facility
  • Initiate verbal / written warnings, and delivers corrective actions if necessary
  • Responsible for supervision and employment decisions of kitchen staff
  • Works closely with the Events Catering Manager to initiate, plan, and execute Banquet Events, as to the expectations of the requestor
  • Able to work flexible hours, in multiple locations

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required
  • 5 years high volume Culinary Banquet experience required
  • College courses, culinary education preferred

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Exceptional knife skills
  • Serve Safe Managers card

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Applicant must be able to operate all kitchen equipment as well as direct others in their operation and technique.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
